Professor Doctor Emin Ersoy, who is the Head of the Department of General Surgery and Obesity Center, Medistate Kavacık Hospital, was born in 1961 in Adana. He graduated from Çukurova Medical Faculty in 1985. Between 1987 and 2016, he served as a general surgeon in the Department of General Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Gazi University, Ankara. He also carried out his studies as a visiting surgeon at National University of Singapore (1996) and Cleveland Clinic, USA (2000).

While he shared his experiences with his students and colleagues in Turkey, he organized and attended a number of symposiums in Germany and Belgium. He has contributed to the field of general surgery with his publications in foreign languages. Ersoy moved to Istanbul in 2016 and has been working at Medistate Kavacık Hospital since then.
